The past two years have driven a shift in the workplace and put the spotlight on two pre-existing performance enablers: process automation and the need to digitize data.
Structuring and digitizing data is a requirement for all digital ambitions. Our research confirms that intelligent document processing and OCR are the two primary solutions supporting this shift... But that there is a significant gap still to be closed (over 50%!).
Automation skills remain a priority but today they are partnered with capabilities around process design and continuous improvement, and are clearly built on data management.
What is encouraging is that shared services and global business services are playing a critical role in supporting the enterprise digital agenda: 85% of the market confirm they play a part in this, compared to 73% a year ago.
